Week 12 - the Burger vs the Hotdog

Following the insights from our conversations with the users last week, this week we designed 2 new shapes: the hamburger and the hotdog. While maintaining the comfort of squeezing, we wanted to test whether the shape is intuitive and invites the user to hold correctly. We tested the new prototype on five users, let them play with it, and asked them several questions.

Users liked the shape of the hamburger, for example, there are some comments: "fun to press it, it's very relaxing" or "the press is very good, it has something special in it, it activates the whole hand". After a full week of testing, we realized that the shape of the burger is a little too flat and that we need to add a little volume on one side in order to "fill" the space left between the hand and the device. As for the hotdog, we realized that the shape is not good, the users did not want to use it at all, it was too thin and weak.

"The press is very good, it has something special in it, it activates the whole hand"

This week, we Also progressed on the technological side, we started assembling the hardware components, testing sizes, and testing connectivity. The microphone worked in a test we did, but it provide a raw file and was not suitable for listening, we encountered a software challenge that we will have to solve next week. However, it seems that the size of the model we built is good and that we will not have to increase it too much because most of the hardware fits inside well.
